Mother Nature showed up today and put the hurt on all three fields. Hats off to the riders braving the conditions tonight, and thanks to the Pirate Meteorological Dept for their heads-up weather update which allowed us to get out just in time. The evening closed with an abbreviated Open Race which was called due to a nasty combination of wind, dust, rain and cold. It’s supposed to be much nicer next week, hope to see you all there.
Results have been posted. It was tricky to see some numbers from inside, but hopefully things are correct.
Kudos to the volunteers such as Jen for braving the elements tonight. I am happy to have a roof over my head while I listen to the sleet landing outside.
Downwind was fun tonight. Upwind made us feel tough
Yes, I believe the Pirate Meteorological Dept’s heads up was (and I quote) “Stack, dude- the sh#t’s about to hit the fan”. I only wish the local weather guys would give me a forecast that accurate.
I can’t thank everyone enough for making last night fun: Mike and the Irbys for setting up, Jen for sitting out on the bell laps, Brandon for grilling in the dust storm, Matt, Jonathan, Kyle, Jacob, Eardie, and Jen for running around in the rain and getting everything cleaned up in record time. I really appreciate the A’s patience with the shortened race, too. I’ll have season standings posted this afternoon.
