Okay kids, 36 degrees may not be too cold to race, but its definitely too cold to put on a race. We’re pulling the plug on racing tonight, which means the remaining THREE RACES (Dec 23, Dec 30, and Jan 6) mean that much more! Have some cocoa, get on the trainer, and look forward to it being 70 out on Thursday.

Well that was some nasty weather…
Mother Nature showed up today and put the hurt on all three fields. Hats off to the riders braving the conditions tonight, and thanks to the Pirate Meteorological Dept for their heads-up weather update which allowed us to get out just in time. The evening closed with an abbreviated Open Race which was called due to a nasty combination of wind, dust, rain and cold. It’s supposed to be much nicer next week, hope to see you all there.
Results have been posted. It was tricky to see some numbers from inside, but hopefully things are correct.
12-2 Results Posted
No more need for asterix’s, all the results are up. It was a fun, windy night, with the course as hard as it’s been all year long, and that beginner class just keeps growing.
Hope to see you all next week
Results up, how prizes work, New Years day
After much delay, we’ve got the results from last week posted. We will post the “Second Season” standings after this week’s races. Speaking of which, the percipitation this past weekend should have packed things down nicely. Unfortunately, we are pulling the plug on the race we had planned for New Years Day, however plan on racing on both Tuesday December 23 and Tuesday December 30.
Here is a quick breakdown of how we gonna award prizes:
Season scores are tallied based on awarding points to the top 15 finishers using the following points schedule: 40, 35, 31, 27, 24, 21, 18, 15, 13, 11, 9, 7, 5, 3, 1. There are no “drops.” Scores include races beginning November 25 through January 6.
Categories:

11-18 B race results corrected
After a bit of a technical snafu, the B results are now correct.
New Dirt Derby Series, T-giving
As temperatures dropped in Del Valle (the refrigerator of Austin) the race action heated up, and the amount of cliche expressions rose as well. The air was as about as thick with dust as the beginner race was with racers. One quarter of 100 people showed up for the beginner race, and 30+ for the intermediate.
What is new will be old, and what is old will seem older as the Dirt Derby kicks off a new series of racing next week with a little thanksgiving themed cross. Swanky custom fitted shoes, a slick Yakima bike mount and suave sundry items are also on the line. Come out, put the hurt on other people in your category, do it again and again, and win some sweet swag. How will it be Thanksgiving themed you ask? Well, it’ll be two days before Thanksgiving, that’s how. And you’ll want to race hard so that you can justify sitting around all day eating and watching football two days later.
Race for pride, race for fun, race for a preemptive strike against turkey and stuffing (maybe yams, if you’re into that sort’ve thing), just race.
A Swing and a Miss!
Somehow the rain completely missed Del Valle, and about 50 folks made the trip, including comparably large Beginners Women’s-only fields. Thanks especially to a big crowd of volunteers who believed me when I said it was going to be perfect weather, and our friends from the Violet Crown for rushing out with the course marking materials. It turned out to be a beautiful evening for spectators and racers.
