We greatly enjoyed the week we had on, but unfortunately we’ve got to take another week off. In the meantime though, enjoy the mud and have a happy Halloween.

After much ballyhoo about the weather and the unfortunate muddy tendencies of our beloved course, the Derby was back. And it was kickin.
Ladies’ Night was on, with some 20 women, and one guy who looked like a woman, enjoying the free racing. Thanks to LunaChix and Bobby’s Bikes for helping put that on. Hammerhead Bicycles had a stand, Bobby’s Bikes had a tent, Violet Crown Cycles had a tent, News 8 Austin was there, and a whole bunch of racers were there too.
All this to say, it was good to be back. And results are posted. And the overall results from our abbreviated first series have undergone a bevy of corrections. And also that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and that the Luna Chix and us recommend this site if you’re inclined to donate: www.breastcancerfund.org
Thanks for coming out. We wish you a very dry next 7 days,

No more rain dances please. Ladies Night is going to be awesome.
New month, same weather. Things are currently ‘squishy’ out on the course. If you were at ACL this weekend, you still don’t know what mud is. At this point, an ark made of innertubes is a possibility, and also perhaps throwing rice all over the course to soak up the moisture.
As previously, next time will be Ladies Night. As always, check the website, www.dirtderby.com, for the latest information on race details. In the meantime, click on over to our Sponsors page, dirtderby.com/sponsors for ideas on what to do with your Tuesday evening.
Awaiting our second return of 2009,

but we are not. It’s too muddy in the parking lot for cars and the track has not dried sufficiently.
So, if you raced CX in both weeks so far, then you just need to race next week to qualify. If you weren’t able to race either of the first 2 weeks, then show up next week and get started for Series #2.
The first Dirt Derby Ladies Night is tomorrow if weather holds out.
See you next week to start the new four week series. The first series results will be tabulated and posted based on the two races that were not rained out.
Well, now that the Hammerhead Cycles Dirt Derby featuring True Fabrication is all sponsored, we’ve rolled out a new flyer with pretty new logos on it. A warm welcome to the Peddler Bike Shop as sponsor of our MTB races; check out their new location on 51st and Duval.
We’re monitoring the rain and using our (sponsorship available) C-130 Hercules to deploy anti-precipitation measures into the approaching front. If that doesn’t work, and the weather makes things unrideable, we’ll let you know, otherwise plan on the usual good time and the not-as-usual Ladies Night where ladies race for free.
